- נֶקֶףm. (נָקַף I) 1) bruise.Pl. נְקָפִים. Sabb.62b (expl. נקפה, Is. 3:24); Yalk. Is. 264. 2) beating (of the heart), scruples, doubt. Midr. Till. to Ps. 9:2 שלא יהא בלבי נ׳ that there be no struggle in my heart (ed. Bub., a. Yalk. ib. 642: שלא יהא לבי נוֹקֵף, v. נָקַף I).
